Terms of Service

These terms govern access to and use of Lago's hiring marketplace, talent vetting, employer tools, and related services.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Lago, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you use Lago on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these terms.
2. Platform Services
Lago provides tools for talent discovery, vetting, interviews, hiring workflows, messaging, payments, and related marketplace services. We may update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the platform as our services evolve.
3. Account Responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure, providing accurate information, and promptly updating profile, company, billing, and hiring details when they change.
4. Acceptable Use
You may not misuse the platform, scrape or resell platform data, circumvent Lago's hiring process, upload unlawful content, interfere with security controls, or use Lago in violation of applicable law.
5. Hiring, Payments, and Third-Party Services
Hiring, contractor management, background checks, payments, payroll, and similar workflows may involve third-party providers. Their terms may also apply when you use those connected services.
6. Disputes and Escalations
If a hiring, payment, performance, communication, or platform issue arises, users should first contact Lago through the relevant platform workflow or support channel. Lago may review account records, messages, interviews, offers, contracts, payment status, and related context to help triage the issue. We may pause access, freeze a workflow, request more information, or escalate the matter to a third-party provider when needed.
7. Intellectual Property
Lago and its licensors own the platform, software, branding, and related materials. You retain ownership of content you provide but grant Lago the rights needed to operate, improve, secure, and provide the services.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The platform is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lago is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide notice where appropriate.
10. Non-Circumvention Agreement
Required for Employer Accounts
By creating an employer account on Lago, you expressly agree to the following Non-Circumvention terms:
- No Direct Hiring: You agree not to directly contact, solicit, or hire any talent that you discovered, reviewed, or were introduced to through the Lago platform outside of the Lago platform and without Lago's involvement.
- Duration: This obligation applies during your use of the platform and for a period of 24 months after your last interaction with any Lago-introduced talent candidate.
- Breach & Remedies: Violation of this agreement may result in account suspension and may entitle Lago to pursue legal remedies including but not limited to a placement fee equivalent to the market rate for the position filled.
- Scope: This clause covers all forms of engagement including full-time employment, part-time employment, contractor arrangements, consulting agreements, or any other compensated relationship.
This Non-Circumvention Agreement is a material term of your access to Lago. Your acceptance of these terms during account creation is logged with a timestamp and is legally binding.
